Universitetsfondet for Rogaland AS is a publicly owned investment fund established in 2000, originally to help Stavanger University College achieve university status. The company is owned by Rogaland County and several municipalities including Stavanger, Sandnes, Haugesund, and Sola. Since the University of Stavanger (UiS) was established in 2005, the fund has supported academic development, education, research, and innovation projects in the Rogaland region, contributing approximately 170 million NOK over 23 years. Their strategic focus includes investing in future-oriented knowledge and research, stimulating collaboration between knowledge institutions and society, and developing the Ullandhaug university campus area. The fund also facilitates coordination between key stakeholders and awards an annual prize for research dissemination and community engagement to UiS employees.
